State sponsored mobs attacked Muslims in Bago, Myanmar
State’s sponsored Buddhist extremists, MaBaTha demolished a Mosque and a Madrasa (Muslim religious school) in Thuye Thamin village, Waw Township, Bago Division today afternoon. MaBaTha group including nearly 200 Buddhists came to the village holding knives, rods, hammers and other lethal weapons in the afternoon and started destroying Mosque and Madrasa of Muslims in front of police force as they did in Arakan, Meiktila, Lashio, Okkan and other places before, during Thein Sein era. As State’s sponsored mobs destroyed some houses of Muslims, robbed their properties and beat them, villagers had to run to save their lives.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who has been boasting reconciliation, peace, democracy, law and order, never said a single word against MaBaTha, rather blamed Muslims as a threat. Thein Sein Government organized destruction, massacre, and genocidal violence against Rohingya and Muslims after one year of his administration but soon after the formation of NLD government, violence and demolishment of Christains and Muslims started in Kachin State first, then continue nationwide. Recently, in Phakan two religious building of Muslims were destroyed and warned destruction of Mosque. Today, another Madrasa and Mosques were destroyed.
In Arakan State of Burma, government is very busy forcing Rohingya to accept genocidal NVC cards, using false accusation of rape case and arrested Rohingya, constructing fences and confiscation Rohingya’s farm lands in Kyauktaw, tortured to death of a Rohingya in Maungdaw by Border Guards. One side, State has been trying elimination of Rohingya urging all diplomats to avoid the term Rohingya, on the other side, it allows Rakhine extremist party, ANP led by Dr. Aye Maung to allegate Rohingya illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.
Though Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s government tabled a new term for Rohingya, Muslim Community in Arakan State, most of the State’s media and Rakhine extremists are continuously using illegal Bengali immigrants for Rohingya. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said the term Rohingya is emotionally charged in Myanmar, should avoid it for peace process because the term itself is a problem not solution for Rohingya. In reality, State policy has not been changed at all and no rule of law which protect Muslims and Christians in Myanmar.
State’s school officially advertised non-Buddhists are mix-blood, Thwenaw in Burmese, cannot be provided National Scrunity ID cards as an instruction of the State. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing officially announced that the protection of race and religion, mainly Buddhists is responsible for the Ministry of Defense as every country does.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi may urge to avoid the term “Muslims” and will say it will be a problem for democratization and reconciliation of Myanmar against 1.5 billion Muslims on Earth. OIC should issue a strong statement regarding ongoing human rights violation against Muslims as well as other minorities, and should convince China which directly involve genocidal violence against Rohingya for Golden Gas Project, to put pressure on Myanmar government end human right violations immediately.
According to reliable source, State arranged this violence against UN Special Rapporteur, Ms Yanghee Lee, who came to Myanmar to investigate any improvement of human rights after new civilian government. Head of State’s sponsored MaBaTha, not only insulted her but also challenged the World that they could violate rights of minorities freely.
